Bio ABOUT

Another month in, a friend of mine wanted some art work done for a Game idea that he had, he gave me the general descriptions of the artwork he wanted doing, some structures and landscapes, and I have to admit, I enjoyed doing the work. I was looking into artwork and conceptions when I came across a course on Game Design, 3D work (I enjoy working with intricate details), Animation (love mechanics) and Artwork. PERFECT FIT!! The fact that I loved games didnt hurt either. During my studies at Leeds Metropolitan University I very quickly got into Animation, both 3D (Bipeds, creatures, bone structures) and 2D. 2.5D animations and Post Processing were new to me, but I got the hang of it quick. I've made a couple of quick clips using After Effects and various Post Processing techniques. Spending 3 Years at University studying Game Design, made 2 Vertical Slices numerous 3D models, countless concepts several special effects...... LOVED EVERY SECOND. I ended up with a Second-class Honours, upper division (2:1) degree, second in the class, made some amazing friends and met some great people. I've never regretted going.

To the left is me, Oliver Stevenson. I'm 23 Years old and have recently finished my Games Design degree studying at Leeds Metropolitan University. I wont lie, after high school I was lost for what to do at university with the education I had just had. I thought at the time that completing my A-Levels was hard enough, so I took a year out to think about what I would like to do. In this time I did some travelling and part time work. Contemplating what I could do with A-Levels in Computing, Electronics and Art to combine them into something I enjoyed wasnt tough. At first I was going pushing towards Auto-Electronics... I'm good with electronics and I enjoy working on various aspects of mechanics. After doing some research I soon realised there wasnt much need for Auto Electricians anymore, nearly all of technology these days is Plug n Play. This soon led to Computing, but I wasnt too keen on the software programming aspects of high end programming. My teachers back at Birkdale were stumped as what to combine my courses into...

At the moment, I still dont have that much to show, but this is some of my work over the past couple of years. At university our course was very wide spread, from 2D stills to fully animated 3D models. I have separated the three main aspects which I focused on.
- Animation
- Game Design
- Motion Graphics
